Coen Carter Poems
I See Stars
I saw a star in Venice I saw a star tonight I saw a star falling then regain its flight. I saw a star in Rio
I thought I had no passion, I thought it was a lie. But then I found compassion and softly start to cry. It wasn't for myself I was crying for another. I was crying for a little girl who had just lost her mother.
Peace Is Just A Theory
Peace is just a theory in which we want to live Peace is just a notion that seems hard to give
If you cannot capture the imaginations of friends and family maybe its just that they’re not to be your audience.
The true tragedy of my life is that I’ve watched my birth; my life and my death and in my arrogance believed the passing moments belonged to me It’s only now I realise they were never mine at all
Incoherent ramblings that slowly turn to sense Miscarriage of emotions trapped inside this fence Surgeries in secret to hide this battered face Cosmetic in its purpose the time I start to race
The Waxy Twinge
Like dogs finding rainbows in a dreary grey light Emotions carved in sickness all across the night Twenty-three years in a subconscious addled room High amongst the poet’s plain to share the doom and gloom
Dead Poet Getting Stronger
She comes in shadows light when I have no Protection Dead poets taking flight in mirrored life’s Reflection
His art takes him back in time to memories he now regrets Unfailing with consistency so he cannot forget A living breathing person with a soul just like my own Met so many like him but yet so all alone
A Distant Queen
She’s a distant queen with a gazing stare of ice And if you FALL in love with her she’ll MAKE you pay the price Not forgotten but yet so lonely she RAGES all alone And you’re to SIT and WONDER if this ever was her home
My world has been stolen nothing left in motion All that once was broken now swallowed by the ocean Diaries of writing fuelled with hidden fears Now sinking to the bottom the ashes turn to tears
Mother Earth & Father Time
We can’t all be heroes some of us dying An unbearable silence while the world sits crying I’ve swam in her oceans and felt a saltwater mist And lay on her shores to witness a tryst
My reality is based on dreams My dreams around reality Forever the search to have one with out the other But how do I separate the two when they are based around each
I drink I cry I wake I sleep I rage I die I fly I’m weak I scream I run I yell I fall I break I’m dead nothing at all

I See Stars
I saw a star in Venice
I saw a star tonight
I saw a star falling then regain its flight.
I saw a star in Rio
I saw a star in you
I saw a star twinkling in different shades of blue.
I saw a star in Heaven
I saw a star in Hell
But never did I see a star twinkling on my world.
I've seen a star fading
I've seen it cross the sky
I've seen so many different stars trying not to die
I've seen them come together
I've watched them grow apart
I have seen so many stars in a lovers heart.
I've seen the stars exploding
I've seen the quiet and ...
