And keep on crying and praying
For chariots many and huge horses -
Despite the saddening saying:
'If only wishes were horses! '

And keep on wishing and longing
For a new Golgotha without crosses
Despite Reality's preaching:
'If only wishes were horses! '

And keep on knocking at doors and gates

How come your face is long and brown?
How come you know bear a huge frown?
How come you now appear sad and pitiful
Yet black must alway be cheerfully beautiful?

How come you are so haggard and war begone?
How come your joy suddenly has gone?
How, still, how come you now spend time alone
Yet black must stand together or fall alone?
