Elements

I have seen the element of my addiction.
Paralyzing my mind
Smelling my fear
I can hear the center of nothing
And it leaves a bitter grit between my teeth.
What a strange place I have seen.
Like a nightmare
Binding my body,
Cursing me.
Crickets sing
and send seizures down my spine.
What have I learned here?
A curious heart feeds many mouths,
and eyes adjust like t.v.'s.
