And dark are the clouds that hover,
Each man must strive in all his ways
To survive the trials he must face here.

A country girl I'd rather be

We won't find our way,

With the words we say.

Our land was conquered
And our people made slaves.
In history remembered,
Here walked the brave.

We try persistently to speak
Of love and of caring compassion.
But elusive is the peace we seek
This world is so lost in confusion.

To keep on trying to live well
Is in itself a daring feat,
For we'll all leave the human shell
When our death we meet.

Roses everyday
