Yet

To You the night shines as brightly as the day;
Is the sweet smell of sin pleasant to Thee?
At the back of minds you patiently stay,
Waiting for the strength in man that will be.

I have let the dark cover up my eyes;
Your light has faded into the black night,
And yet You are forever by my side,
And yet Your bride welcomes me to the rite.

Why are we loved when we continue to fall,
When even the saints have sins of their own?
How are we loved by anyone at all?
Each of us sinners, hewn from the same stone,

And yet where moth and rust consume the land,
I am still loved by the Son of Man.
