My final farewell is written in verse,
I'll soon be in that dark, sombre hearse,
The life within me drained as a bath,
I'm heading north, on my final path.

Taking life and love for granted,
It's simply wrong and greatly slanted,
For there is beauty all around,
Look carefully and you'll see what you've found.

It's strange to think that one moment you're young,
And the next you're wrinkled, your song unsung.
Precious moments fly by at a blink,
And realising the life you've wasted, you just sink.

Sometimes I dream even just for a day,
That perhaps we belong as a couple not one,
But then I remember what I mean to you,
A mere friend and a mortal but never your one,

the futility but resilience of it all,
is enough to disgust or even appall.
bodies of innocence lie here and there,
life continues, without a shadow of care.

roses are red and violets are blue,
the old cliche of the valentines day blues,
but this poem's different and so are you,
hence it's written from me unto you

Descending down the winding roads,
To join the growing population below,
Where neither snow melts or thaws,
Ot the flowing salt rivers freeze,

Young love is a thing of high debate,
At the age of so young, can fate
Bring two together to form just one,
Or can that illusion be simply undone.

I was lost in fact I dare say,
There was no light at the
end of my tunnel. Just darkness.
