The priest was dressed in a faded white,
Worry creased forehead, pockets all empty.

A little boy skips along holding his father's right hand
While the left hand is cuffed to a tough policeman
On their way to find out how the courts decide their future.
Will it be life for man and boy, or life with a number?

It’s an early day, starts while it’s still dark
She stretches and drags her sleepy head
Got to take all the children to the park
But first, have to drag them all out of bed.

A blob in a multitude of moving spiky hair
This world he had decided was much too small
Life on the other side must be greener, say fair

The green cover lost to depths of the earth
The rain of plenty has not a cloud to spare
And the sun bleeds spite in diminutive dearth

Not a cloud of hope disturbs its great expanse
The clay in the field a cracking disturbance
Like a leper's sore gone dry, in want of balm

WHERE the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where the cry of hunger is always answered
Where politicians behave responsibly to the nation and not only to themselves
