across long forgotten battlefields

the dead lie asleep.

and that’s when it starts,

trying to figure out a line to write,
inspiration seems to have deserted me tonight.
I hear no strings of love;

Across the silver lake of dreams,
a malevolent pixie sits,
with rod in hand,
and line in water,

I look in the mirror
And what do I see

They came in hundreds to read my poems yesterday
But they all faded away today
I hope they will come back
Maybe tomorrow or someday soon
...

I wrote a little poem
I thought was so nice
Filled with love, sugar and spice
Figuring no one would want to read it

Years have passed along down the line
Of the summers we used to know
The days when love
Filled every minute way back there

As evening shadows fall
And stars begin to shine
We walk hand in hand
