around closed window, howls,
sit there shivering.
Pour cup of coffee

Broken parts litter floor
wait for more to put appliance
together for a while.
Better an old friend

Early dark settles
drifting song
wind chimes call.
Cold air seeps around door
...

Back where weeds thick
slightly moldy in autumn rains
sun doesn't get there much.
Proud watch last flowers still bloom
...

Finding another piece of speckled rock
that comes with just the right colors.
Then with a couple of days polishing
it's perfect for a gift
...

Been here watching
night getting long.
Traffic noise light
for a change
...
