A gift contained,
A calling without response,
A cry without a bosom.
Fear holds the holder,

What I vowed, I meant.
Every day I'm reminded by my heart.
You're my soul, my mate.
I give you my all my love.

Dabbling in this mess,
Of a crazy craze.
Will they notice me,
Wil't make my heart free?
...

The jeers and crits are barbed,
Wounding my inner man.
The snarl of those without sensitivity,
Leaving the bruised soul scorned.
...

What I once believed is now just a fuzzy fantasy.
The slow death of my dream is realised.
I'm too afraid to believe again,
So I avoid the unavoidable, knowing I can't hide forever.
