What Happens In The Middle Of The Night

A boy walks out the door,
Slithers down the path,
Into the starry night,
Not looking back,
Hearing an angels voice,
The trees danced in place,
The wind played with hair,
And he whistled along,

A girl danced up to his side,
Taking his hand and danced,
They danced past one,
Sat down at five after,
and watched the moon move past,

The boy fell asleep,
As everyone said good-night,
By morning, everyone was gone,
except one,

The boy lay motionless,
Cold as ice and white as snow,
But happy as a the night
