Yes fly me away
To that part of the world
Where dolphins play

I found her in a phone booth
Dressed in jammies and a jacket
Eyes brimming with tears
Goose-egg lump on her head
...

The night went well
She had brains and personality
To match her beauty
They drank Merlot
...

When I was small
I would lie lazily
On the living-room carpet
Curled up in a sunny spot
...

There was a subtle shift today
I felt the axis slip...
Just a notch
...

Instead of waiting for our future,
To unfold before my very eyes,
I'll be content to be with you...
For the moment.
...

I hadn't seen her in close to a year
And so...we met for a simple lunch
I brought tuna sandwiches, strawberries and lattes
She brought her lovely smile!

Let the moon kiss my shoulders
The waves kiss my toes
I've waited a lifetime
For someone who knows...

You may think from the title
That this is a sarcastic poem
But really, I do love my job! !
