Hope Can Last

There is a whispering in the wind,
just short of telling a story-
a tragic tale of love and lost and what love was supposed to be- fairy tales

what I tell my daughter when she goes to sleep,
breathing a note of song- comfort to her ears-
that the world is not lonely, that the world is not hard
But open.

And dreams do exist, and hopes do not pass in the stars like forgotten comets-
soaring every thousands of years.
Reminding us humans,
thoughts spread so widely-
can also die so quickly in tears.

She will remember not pain or destruction- nor
of hunger
of frailty-
or of loves unrequited.

She will remember that Mommy loves her,
that adventure is always a test in life-
And hope,
Well hope- lasts forever.
