Douglas ClearyMaxwell Poems

Walked away so that once again
The sun may shine through your eyes
Even if it means that I might die
Hush now please don't cry
...

Here I am up in bed
Sweating from these dreams again
Blood shot eyes
A shattered heart
...

Missing you in every way
Trying to keep these thoughts at bay
By working harder every day
Hands are blistered from my dismay
...

I'm here by myself
With all these thoughts put on a shelf
I'm not asking for any wealth
I accept all the things for which i've dealt
...

I've been the king of kings
To the poorest of poors
I've been here, there, and everywhere
From the highest mountains
...

When there's nothing left to offer and your bones begin to break.
The world recycles you into a deathly state.
The days become much harder feeling easily abused.
There is not much left of my slowly burning fuse.
...

Eyes tinted yellow
Rotting near the table
Thinking of what used to be
But trying so hard to forget
...

Have you ever hated so much that there's a fire inside?
Or maybe you've stayed up every night wishing to die
Look into the eyes of every innocent lie thats broken all the spirits of way to many honest lives
Turn your back on the ones who only wanted nothing but goodbye
...

One day I may be dead
From the demise of my own dread
Driving faster everyday
Just to take me far away
...

I am the light at the end of the tunnel
The one that guides you when your in trouble
I'll keep safe make sure your warm
Even when you have lost your home
...

I'm alive
Survived this battle in my head
Still pushing through still not dead
I am not some coward
...

I embrace the day my death shall come but may I never take my own life

I will not die a coward nor will I die in vein
...

Rain is dropping on the ground
A yellow day turned dark brown

Emptiness fills the air
...

16.

Drowning in the past
The waters rising fast
Losing all my will
As my lungs begin to fill
...

As Hell comes upon this twisted land
I watch the world turn into sand
I know that life is never fair
But thats a burden ill have to bear
...

Awful thoughts within my head
Fills my heart with so much dread
Bear the burden, carry the weight
It will lead me to my fate
...

Inside A Nutshell

Walked away so that once again
The sun may shine through your eyes
Even if it means that I might die
Hush now please don't cry
Loved you enough to let you fly
Please just shine
Wherever I go i'll be fine
But no matter what your always mine
Always til' the end of time
I love you green eyed girl
I hope he makes you twirl
You'll always be my world
