the 'universe',
'...to perfect the mind of man'.

shadowed by an earth
patient with its one idea,
competes with earth
to inspire the poet

Creation plays upon your power
To keep it under control,
To give it line to think it's king,
To call it a day and reel it in.

A thing never was it,
is like it,
and will never be it.
...

Who are used to getting it,
who suddenly don't get it,
attack it as being to blame,
then put on weight
...

Charity careerists
move to unhappy times
when those they’re in
show signs of happy.
...

You say to the police
you've done something
that's made you a bull's-eye for who
have no compunction
...

When you're addicted
