Having had a car,

we no longer put wine in glass made here,
but export it in bulk
and have it bottled where it's drunk.

And wisdom of mind
Can only delay implication
Of everything being just.

We multiplied
out of content.

We saw the moon

to-be-widely-read poet
with a heart for rhyme
saw honesty increasing his troubles,

Hardship says
“I know from where everything comes out
and ask you from here ‘What? ’ ”

I supposed it was too much to expect
that no-one else would have thought
a pansy with a face looked like Yosemite Sam,
but I was secretly glad
