There are tears to shed but much more to wipe;
There are joys to live for but more to give;
There are days to remember and some to forget;
There are places to visit but some to avoid;

Like Jesus, Christians ought to bear a cross,
And carry it in His foot-steps and fall;
And drink from cup for sake of God though gall,
And walk to Calvary for Christ’s one cause!

The woodpecker will not give up,
Until the hole it planned is made!
It walks upon the trunk upside,
Its clawed feet holding bark firmly!

Keep God as first: All things will fall in line!
Keep health second and earthly life is fine;
Keep labor third; hard-work gives success prime;
Keep truth as fourth: wealth will perish with time!
...

If persons do not want to change for good,
Advise them if you can, sometimes;
If persons are recalcitrant in mood,
Try advising them in some better climes!
...

A carriage divine,
With earthly wheels unequal,
Plying on mundane terrain of all kinds,
With varying speeds,
...

That someone so well known to me,
Who worked quite hard in life for long,
Has found mind’s peace and harmony,
And sings aloud a blissful song!
...

For twenty years, you’ve been my wife;
By now, you are almost my life!
You seem more precious than my wealth;
You are my mind’s and body’s health!
...

What if your enemy just follows you,
And monitors your rise most shamelessly;
Beware and keep away from such men too,
Who love to hound good men relentlessly.

When you can’t do the things you want to do,
And you can’t do in ways your very own,
And time and tide, ill-luck too prevent you,
And despair fills your heart- you should not moan.
