When stress gets me, I’m not alone;
It strikes almost everyone;
Be they my kith or kin or spouse,
Relatives, neighbors near my house.

Thou saved my life so many times till now;
Each time, it was a miracle indeed;
It proved to me Thy magnificent love;
Could I return Thy love with more good deed?
...

Let me be poor like Thee Jesus, my Lord;
Let me be wise and keep on earth, my soul;
Let me live life, not on my own accord;
Let me then work for my Heavenly goal.
...

With poise and elegance, the cat sits long,
Eyeing the hole from which the rat comes out;
Though hours have passed and clock has said, ‘ding-dong, ’
The cat stays on unstirred, with tired snout.
...

Till now, I found no soul who said to me,
“Come read your poems and let me opine.”
But still, I’m happy writing poetry!
In any case, it tends to be divine.

No one on earth can be above the law;
But laws are not the same for man world-o’er;
When lawmakers break laws, it causes awe;
Yet, criminals must get jud’cial cover.

Build me a mantle of protection, Lord,
With fervent prayers that I Thee offer;
From evil men, safety I can’t afford;
Security of life, Thou must proffer.
...

Look at the famished men in cells ill-kept!
Just fleshless skeletons, draped by thin skin;
Some are but heroes, unlauded, unwept,
Who spend the lives for unknown crimes and sin.
...

Will human beings never learn lessons?
Their hearts turn cold with time and minds think not;
Preoccupied with vengeance in sessions,
To overthrow their opponents, they plot.
...

With time, the truth surfaces to the fore,
Like air-bubbles ascending to the brim
Of liquids, hurriedly when you pour,
To break in turn with noises at the rim.
