My pleasant life of yesterday,
When I was just a lad,
Has vanished without trace today,
Which makes me only sad.
...
I want to cry but I can only try;
I want to scream but it won’t reach most ears;
I want to scold but many will not change;
I want to curse but it will never work!
...
The common man lives unsheltered;
His hut of mud is razed unwarned;
No other place instead, he gets;
His family stays in sun and rain!
...
The sky was clear and bright and blue with sun,
Over the tents of Indian tribes, that shone,
Whose life appeared as normal and kept on;
With Eagled shadow’s coming, all seemed gone!
...
True greatness isn’t what men can give on earth
Or that obtained by clout or influence,
Nor that which comes through lineage since one’s birth,
But comes from heaven’s grace and providence.
...
I am an Indian by birth
No one dare questions my citizenship
Democracy is the rule of my beloved motherland
Every fellowman is equal in all aspects
...
The summer's gone and autumn's due;
I hear the squirrel squeak this morn;
Its noisiness is heard again,
Disturbing neighbor-hood each dawn.
...
What nimble feet, tiny and warm,
My baby's, I hold in my hands!
They want to walk without much harm,
On God-made earthly lands, and sands.
...
To love your foe is not an easy task;
A lot of patience is the factor main;
He sees your face of truth as one of mask,
And gestures kind, as ones with which you feign!
...
A lovely day for everyone
To greet and wish and express love;
A special day for lovers all
To speak out heart and mind and soul!
