The Clandestine Man

There once was a man, who wore a white tee,
He had a surreptitious aura which no man could see
A son of the morning he was to plain sight
He captures the day’s travel right after the night

At face value he looked like a stream
A stream that understands, and when you look it kind of gleams
He’d walk the streets at dawn with no rush,
Carrying nothing more than paint and brush.

When the day got busy the people who watched with interest
Would get shown pictures of the obscurest
Nobody understood his way of art
He constantly wonders every time he starts

Why the same thing goes on everyday
He paints and leaves in the same way
Although nobody understands him
He never lets his attitude become dim

He carries his supplies on a tidy little trolley
And people do not understand how his art could embody
The true meaning of our own start
By telling us that we are children who each has our part

In his masterpiece which is never finished
Creating a work of art that will never diminish
The work of art is the sunshine we see
Everyday we wake up… you and me

So everyday when he packs up to leave
He is brining back more paintings of people to weave
Into his masterpiece which he calls “my children”.
And different people everyday who he has chosen

Are taken back to his home which nobody can see
He is a man who wouldn’t harm a flea
So next time you see a man on the streets
Be weary for it might be you who is on the next painted sheet

Keep an eye on the clandestine man who is ever so sly
For it is said he has the ability to fly
Something to think about on your way home today
Keep an eye on the beast who seeks his next prey…
