Eileen C. Moulton Poems

I walked in my garden one early morn;
smelled the flowers and touched a thorn.
The scent of the flowers was pure and sweet
but the pain from the thorn went very deep.
...

An empty heart, an empty space
waiting for Jesus and His grace.
Waiting and wondering--not knowing what
it was waiting for--that empty heart.
...

Have you ever asked God to do it your way;
not wanting to hear what He had to say?
Did He grant your wish and then you find
you've lost your joy and peace of mind?

Life's Garden

I walked in my garden one early morn;
smelled the flowers and touched a thorn.
The scent of the flowers was pure and sweet
but the pain from the thorn went very deep.
Life is like a
garden of flowers,
filled with beauty and with pain,
with sunshine and with rain.
The winds and rain batter and bend
until it seems there is no end.
Then the sun comes out and warms our souls
as God's love reaches down and makes us whole.
The sun, the rain, the love, the pain
all are stepping-stones to the day
when God will take us by the hand
and lead us to His Gloryland.
