A Poem For Nora

In 1977 Ceres Bakery rocked Ladbroke Grove.
In 77' Nora would serve me Irish potato Cakes from her Auger Stove.
her Off License, The 'Oasis Sanctuary' sis and I would call it.
A midweek chat with Ireland's Finest Bride,
A warm Handshake from Joe, with, 'a Come inside.'

We talked about Athenry, Loughrea's Scobey Brennan and his Bravery.
Nora's friends the O'Reidans Shop owners facing the Market Square.
who sold Granny her Woodbines and me my Shamrock lighters filled with Paraffin
We Laughed at the Reels in Tents, the after math din.
Chips from Tommy kearns van, free from cares Free from Sin.

Nora, your sweet Soft voice, an audience for the two London Irish Girls.

Carefully arranging us thrones of crates, we called them Nora Seats.
