Today I cried a little, as I called my little girl

Reminiscing

Today I cried a little, as I called my little girl
and saw her waiting by the stairs
Wedding blossoms in her hair
How gently I had touched her baby skin so fair
When she cried I soothed her in my rocking chair
The cares were many each step of the way
As love and laughter knelt to pray
That she would always be our queen
The parenting years just seventeen
So like time, she moved away
Sharing our love with a lads today
The memories she left us as I called from the stairs
We love you big girl with Wedding blossoms in your hair
