Elizabeth Clement Poems

I sneak a look at him.
From under my eyelashes.
Seeing a perfect soul.
I wish I could have him,
...

Love and Pain,
Love and Pain,
We see our loved soldiers newly slain.
...

I was once like you,
A mere mortal.
Unaware of the immortals,
Walking among us.
...

If I could spill my secrets,
I’d tell that one guy,
That he is the most perfect thing to walk this earth,
Because he is the only thing I think is perfect.
...

Running though the woods,
I hear the whispers of the town folks,
Still ringing in my head,
They say I am evil,
...

If you were truly unwanted
Then she wouldn’t like you so much
That it hurts.
...

You were just asking for this to happen,
With all the pressure you put upon me.
All we had was six more months of high school,
But you couldn’t wait.
...

Water snakes around my legs,
I gasps for air
Vehicles lurching down the Mississippi river like streets.
Orange rope,
...

Daydreaming about love.
Thinking fairytales can’t come true.
Wondering where’s my prince charming.
Guessing love isn’t for me.
...

Feeling the fresh cut green grass.
After a little shower.
So soft on the bottoms of my bare feet.
Seeing butterflies flitter around in the cool breeze
...

11.

They hear the hurtful names.
They see the tears roll down my face.
They don’t feel my pain.
...

True love is what I truly want.
True love is what makes me feel special.
True love is what makes me giggle.
True love is what makes me blush scarlet.
...

13.

I know how you feel,
But I wish I didn’t.
Our sadness is overwhelming.
Our depression is oppressing everyone.
...

I love u so,
You love me not.

I miss you when your gone,
...

I sit here,
In this cold, dark place.
Waiting for you,
To finally notice,
...

Can’t you see her melting,
Drowning in your eyes.
Wishing you would save her,
From this nothing she’s become.
...

Of all the secrets never told,
Mine could have stopped her,
From slicing her wrist.
That lead to her never fading scars.
...

18.

For us,
Our love is forbidden.

For us,
...

I wish that you would,
notice me.
Because I know you don’t.
...

She begs to the world,
To take away her pain,
But the world doesn’t hear her begging.

My Secret Crush

I sneak a look at him.
From under my eyelashes.
Seeing a perfect soul.
I wish I could have him,
As mine and not hers,
But I know I can't.

All he sees is his flaws.
All I see is his perfection.

He thinks he's ugly.
I think he's a gift.

He'll probably never know i exist,
But i know he exists.

That's why i still hold on,
To the hope,
That he might,
Someday,
Be mine.
But for now,
He'll stay as,
My secret crush
