Night washes free all coloured things
Tight as stretched skirts
Flowers foam oceanic moons,
Beg a flood.

It's not all about me either
I felt your gravity pull me around like a planet
But then when I realised this

Cut Flowers

Night washes free all coloured things
Tight as stretched skirts
Flowers foam oceanic moons,
Beg a flood.

I could kiss you like that
Lost at the edge of your pillow
Your head brimming hazy on a salt lake
Warm air sipping at your mouth
Open
Veins like coral,
Honeycombed with wonder.

The moon rose licking everything grey.
That little dog that won't go away
Whips around the earth again
Barking meringue.
Biting his first frost wave
Pallor crawls
Stealth sharpening as pencils
You colouring me in
Pealing in me a nightingale
You singing yourself out.

Night roses flounce
Spellbind themselves
Unforgivable grace.
They have dug in their toes
Blink shadows
Dip and daze at paths,
Wave
Where you left.

The purple butterfly touches everything it can
Fumbling
Burying in the mourning sun.
I miss you now
Pick flowers born from light as a daydream.
It is not the same as yesterday
But still they are
Pink and orange
And yellow.
