Thought one
To be right falls in the realm of science
But to be compassionate is of the religion
Our own conceptions about the Ultimate
Are the creatures of our own Imagination
We have reduced the Almighty to a fact
And use our methods to prove it for us
To be able to understand the Ultimate
Heart, spirit and mind have to
Explore their strengths beyond logic
Exploration is a matter of preparation
And of practice in the real field of existence
That is why the religions offer us a code
Only to unveil the capacities we possess
How many of us have been able to
Get rid of Ego and thereby of selfishness and greed
How many of us do real charity not for a show
How many of us behave the way
We want others to behave with us
How many of us know the rule of giving
More than the rule of taking
How many of us know that pain and suffering
Are as important for the world as the belief itself
How many of us know that we cannot be
Compassionate without accepting the pain
How many of us know that we cannot know
The Almighty without compassion
How many of us know that to work
With love is to be in rhythm with
The music of the whole cosmos
How many of us know that
The religion means to be compassionate
All else is the commentary to prove it
