Fernando Ayala Poems

We all are artists

painting our dreams
...

Why don't we go

thru the motions
...

if i could freeze

all your worries
...

my yellowbells spoke with me today

fresh from a pogrom with the bermuda grass
...

would that you had not come

and undone several year's work
...

seeming sameness
as i trudge down
this brown dusty road
...

recollections of who we were

floating against the wall
...

here I am at the cusp

of kings and fools
...

surrounded by
electronic susurrations

we talk
...

there are tears

in the nooks and crannies
...

The Best Poem Of Fernando Ayala

Paintings

We all are artists

painting our dreams

on the canvas

of our lives

too strong and vivid

for the mundane

brilliance of color.

We use different

shades of pain,

mixed with

miniscule droplets

of contentment

and a generous

measure of joy.

Each of us wears their

individual paintings

while gazing

into another's eyes.

It seems

the only way we can see

the wholeness

of our lives

is through

the reflections

in another's gaze.
