The mystery called love?
it holds the key to every heart,
makes you long for the night,
fills your bowel without a bite;

And wish I was dust and bones

You kept me from painting the streets' pavement
With the red paint look-alike that you made
You kept me from panting and craving for the pleasures that would fade
You kept my most precious treasure from me

Gathered the strength for years,
The strength to stand tall.
Ruled my fears for years,
Saved my eyes from tears.

You remind me of so many impossibilities,
Like holding to the air with the hands,
Like blocking the sun’s light with human hands,
Like reading the future’s flow in the hands.

The wide road,
The broad path,
Plated with gold,
Attractive from birth.
