    The only rhyming form I like to write in is Terza Rima, which has an aba, bcb arrangement. End-rhyme is the only poetic device that can be jettisoned completely and still leave you with a poem, in my opinion. You take out a sense of meter (or what Eliot called the ghost of meter) , wordplay, metaphor, slightly elevated diction, and the like, and all you have is a piece of writing thats flatter than a well-made pancake at Bob Evans. Some stuff I read just ain't poetry.
