    Flaccid?Yes, its plainspoken to a degree but its FAR from 'flaccid'. Its a wonderful poem; I've been back to read it several times. You accusing, well, ANYONE of flaccidity, is like McKuen accusing someone of being maudlin. -(smile) LP

    Better than most of his stuff, but the diction seems so FLACCID! My instinct is to whip out my scalpel and start slashing away at all the deadwood.

    You should buy his Collected Poems (big collection) - he was more than often his equal. Brilliant - even the early poems. You won't find the best online.
