Now, this is the Jefferson Carter I grew to appreciate despite numerous attempts from 2006-2009 to connect with Tony Monjugots from Little Italy to place a Hit on!
J.C., my wise yet abrasive adjudicator...I won't swear to it...but i'm getting some strong vibes here, lately, that your " Kinder & Gentler" campaign got lost somewhere inbetween the Stravopolous quotes and the Growden reduxings...Hey, Never change a thing....unless of course you want to for ocassional shock-effect...Hope all is well in your world...FjR

Frank, don't encourage me! ! My good intentions went to hell the fifth time I read Jack Growden's supplications to read his dreck. You know he's not about to do anything as RADICAL as to improve his writing through studying contemporary poetry or even reading it! ! Hey, if you're interested in buying a copy of " Get Serious, " my new and selected ($16, includes shipping) , let me know. If not, you won't hurt my feelings. I know how terrifying it is when some scribbler asks " Wanna buy my book?" However, the collection is not self-published, and my publisher, Chax Press, is a legitimate and reputable local press. Check out chax.org to see the great cover art the press creates. Stay well and fluent.

Frank, yeah, I got side-tracked from my campaign to be a kinder, gentler JC! I just lose all self-control when some really bad poet posts a bunch of poop (a collection) and begs PHers to read it. You just know the poetaster wants praise, would never think of working hard at improving the work or even READING some good contemporary poetry, and finds posing as a poet more thrilling than becoming a better one. But you can't shame the shameless. How you doing, bro'?

JC, I spent most of today reading submissions and I expected to have to remember to be kinder and gentler, but guess what happened? Most of the submissions were actually good- some were fantastic. Ou ... more
