Wither, o leaves, wither like a dream under the floating sunrise
Thy shan’t bloom, thy shan’t hoard thy beauty from ravaging time
Winter and blizzard shall shroud this land and thy alongside with
Scorched be thee from the burning of suns, of jealous summer
Evergreen, thy art not

For her is the lasting summer and gentle winter confined within
Her fiery heart burns in untouchable eternity lightly, savoury
Complexity entangled within her roots, crawling to her hard bark
Soften in her branches, sharpen in her needles, jumping to air
Holding drops of dreams in elegant dance toward earth

Sleep, dreams, slumber in her gentle embrace under moonlight
Woe shall wait in time when her pines fall in unison with warmth
Although such a day shall come too late, when oceans dried and
Land crumbles to dust, life gone, loyalty no more, love meeked
But nay, hers is the evergreen- even staring such a day

Hers is the evergreen
And with her shall I see
A grand beginning
And an end
enriched with hope
