Three books I cannot live without, and constantly dip into........
Ulyses, James Joyce.
Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable.
Selected Essays. Samuel Butler....
from which I quote if I may.......
'I do not like books. I believe I have the smallest library of any literary man in London and I have no wish to increase it.........Webster's Dictionary, Whitaker's Almanac and Bradshaw's Railway Guide should be sufficient for any library. It will be time enough to go beyond these when the mass of useful and entertaining matter which they provide has been mastered.'

Forget my question on Dr.Zhivago. You don't
have to answer it. I see you read James Joyce's
'Ulysses'. That is sufficient for an answer
to any question which may be asked of any
    artist or learned man.
