I'm an amateur too in that regard but i believe a if you would let it flow and let the editing later decide what goes or what stays. I would also advice you to look at the works of the best writers you adore and see how they capture such creative occurrences. For example how JK Lowling managed to intrigue us with her magical world without losing a touch of logic for once.
I'm also penning my first ever manuscript at the moment. :) lol
