I think about them a few times every day
And though from me in distance they live far away
The friends of my past to my thoughts ever near
Their faces I see and their voices I hear.

For to celebrate our great athlete he made us all so proud
The speeches were made in the Town Square the band played up and down
From San Juan he had brought a World Championship medal with him to Millstreet his Hometown.

You may not be a celebrity but great credit you are due
That action speaks louder than words those words ring ever true
To live as a decent Human Being your very best you try
And when someone is in need of help to help them you are not shy

My best days behind me and old age ahead
And I thought that nostalgia in me was long dead
But thought once again it has proven me wrong
Nostalgia awakes to a very old song

They always end up rather badly from their crimes they cannot always run
If the law does not get them then Karma will deal with those who live by the gun
For years they may be very lucky and they may even think that crime does pay
But what goes around always comes around that's how life seems to work anyway

Of it millions of books have been written and more stories of it every day
It happens to young and healthy people and to those who are ageing and gray
On it you won't find an age limit for to love one is never too old
There's joy in the glow of it's warmth but heartache comes when it grows cold
...

Though some put their point across by force of might
There is a great difference between wrong and right
And force of might never can make right out of wrong
To the arrogant and ignorant such thinking belong.

An unsuccesful fellow I've written reams of bad rhyme
And I would be in prison if penning doggerel was a crime
As gray as a badger and years past my life's prime
Though we all become victims of old Father time.

Since they cannot eat grass or seeds they can only eat meat
The animals, reptiles, fish and birds of prey they must kill for to eat
And if they they don't eat then they will not live
The innocent killers don't have sins to forgive
