He has not changed from the teen I knew two decdes ago
Some boys into men never do seem to grow
His ego is huge but his World views are small
Some boys remain as boys they don't grow up at all
...

Like you I was driven by ambition my daydreams of fame I recall
But my prime years went all too quickly and compared to most my achievements seem small
But in hindsight does it really matter we are born to die after all
To the unavoidable sharp scythe of the reaper the billionaire like the pauper must fall
...

Those with good past memories they never are poor
And with joy I recall the fields of Annagloor
Where the Cails from Kippagh Lake to the Finnow flow
Through old fields and by ditches and by many a hedgerow.

Those who define what is doggerel from poetry in their own ways seem small
To them even a well written rhyme poem is not poetry at all
Are their souls without music is poetry not song
Or is my thinking outdated have I got it wrong?

But there's always somebody for to drag you down
Not everyone your success will celebrate
And not everyone will look upon you as great

Who wins the most grand slams in tennis no doubt the best player
And to tell you the truth i can't say i much care
Who comes out on top when big egos collide
For the top players as well as prestige and prize money at stake there is ego and pride

It is out of love of it that some people have a market stall
Since on town market day competition is great and profit margins are small
Where to show a small profit is seen as a good day
Than having a market stall there must be an easier way

You may be materially successful and doing well financially
But if you are narrow in your thinking you suffer of mind poverty
Not generous in your ways it does seem by your own narrow guidelines you do live
You find it so easy to receive but you find it so hard for to give
...

He will not be going back to the far away town
Where few new businesses open and many close down
Where job opportunities as ever are few
He has moved to better things from the life he once knew
