Dreams are like sweet fruit
They're pleasing to the senses
Dreams are enjoyable, wonderful, and unique
They make us feel like we can be loved

Pride
A word a whole culture one held dear
When self-respect and self-confidence mattered
When 'It takes a village to raise a child' was relevant

What are these emotions that I am feeling
Pain, grief, agony, sorrow, and despair
It's like nothing in life is appealing
And I go through life without a care
...

I never got a chance to say how beautiful you were
I never got a chance to compliment your figure
For your wisdom bettered that of a great philosopher
And your beauty puts world class models to shame

When your name is brought up
I wince a little
When you walk my way
I glance then quickly look the other way
