Prayer

Prayer is the Christians vital breath
His one and only pow'r
A Strength that keeps from Life to Death
And needed every hour

Prayer is the language learned at birth
How we express our need
A cry to God from here on Earth
To let our souls be freed

Prayer is the Wall that bars the darts
Of evil from our souls
And keeps within, as God imparts
The vibrant glowing coals

Prayer is the Gates wherein we find
Sweet peace from every gale
IT calms and soothes the troubled mind
And never will it fail

When faced with problems, big or small
And riddled through with care
Fall on your knees, on God to call
Your peace will come by prayer

Prayer is the Song of Gratitude
The Christian sings with praise
The thanks for giveing clothes and food
And sending newborn days

Prayer is the Guide that keeps our feet
Upon the path of right
It is where we and God can meet
So He can give us Light

But though prayer is a must below
We'll need it not above
For when someday to heav'n we go
And meet the heav'nly Dove
Our prayers we'll put away with care
When then we see God's face
And we with Him will visit there
In Love, and Truth, and Grace
