Regret

Don't tell me I didin't tell you so
But you, you just wouldn't let go
Now that the world has come crashing around
Tallish dreams have been razed aground
You are quick to find the reason in me
Forgetting you wouldn't listen to me

I was always the dark in your silver life
But you, you had to be my golden wife
Now when the sun has all but dimmed
Budding roses by events trimmed
You are quick to find the reason in me
Forgetting you wouldn't listen to me

Don't you know- I too regret
Me, I am not the one to forget
Wasted chances, half done jobs
Sleepless nights, bad- failure sobs
Now, I am quick to find the reason in me
For allowing you to not listen to me
