You Were My Only Lover

It's cold
The birds on the trees aren't singing no more
I find myself losing interests
Maybe it's due to your absence

The rain is pouring down onto the ground
The cool winds and rustling of leaves, chilling sounds
Imagining that you're here with me now
Even if it's only for a while

The sad trees shed their leaves
Shivering, my forehead creased
Opened my eyes to see
That you're not here next to me

I swear I could smell your scent
I breathe a little slower
I feel loved just by thinking of your presence
You were my only lover

Tonight, the stars retreated
The vast dark skies lost its beautiful shining lights
In my head, the look in your eyes is repeated
I'm left all alone having to put up a fight

I finally play some songs
Hoping to drown out the voices that's been here for so long
But every tune I hear feels solemn
And I yearn for you in my every moment

At the back of my throat, a bitter taste
I rolled up in bed and considered
Life's full of challenges to face
But in this moment, I'm defeated

I call out your name
But hear no answer
Here I remain
What about you? I wonder

No matter what they say
I'll join you in heaven soon one day
