Harrison Bishop Poems

They said welcome to the warzone kid,
Now run along and don't get killed,
War was easier said than done,
With shrapnel flying,
...

Could my life get any worse then it is now?
And yes, that's a rhetorical question....
No-one seems to truly understand but,
Can they,
...

Don't be just another helpless soul,
A cog in a machine,
A useless piece in the puzzle of time,
I'll give you a moment away from your mind.
...

How can the world have peace?
When it is blown into pieces...
How is the United Nations for all,
When brother still shoots brother,
...

5.

18 years,
And a couple of days
You were born to such parents,
Worst part, you had no say
...

I've been thinking of you a lot recently
You were taken away too early
This is what makes me sad.
...

Questions:
What if you didn't exist?
What if there wasn't the pain?
What if it never happened?
...

-verse 1-
For every broken heart,
For every time I would fall,
For every false start
...

Purple room,
Brown carpet,
Spinning desk chair,
In front of me,
...

It started on the Internet,
As every terrible thing would,
Everyone is playing it, whether you know it or not,
It was thought up like only a true troll could
...

He was burnt into the steps,
She folded paper cranes,
The innocent lives lost, the innocent deaths,
When little boy dropped, the aftermath in-humane.
...

Krick-Krocks,
Take off ya socks!
Not nice chips,
They give me head flips,
...

I used to wake up and want to cry,
I used to start living in the hope I'd die,
But in the end you were my friend,
And in the end, these words I'll send to you,
...

Isn't it lucky we are where we are?
No fighting, no need for hiding,
We can still look up and wish upon a star.
...

I'm going to write a poem and I'll write it for Bree,
I'm going to write a poem so she will see,
That my love for her can't be contained,
I'm smitten by her, I might go insane,
...

I know a girl with tonnes of talent,
We're in the same course at the Uni we went,
From movement to acting, singing and voice,
I'd have to say she's my number one choice,
...

We have been through it all, yet ran in different circles,
I was there for you, your brother and mother.
We would talk all night, be strangers during the day,
I have seen you at your best and your undeniable worst.

One Melbourne trip,
Three years of friendship,
Broken.
...

He looks at me,
Intently,
Eyes to the side of his head that is green,
As I sit on the deck of McKinnon lawn at the uni,

The Somme-France 1916, From A 15 Year Olds Perspective

They said welcome to the warzone kid,
Now run along and don't get killed,
War was easier said than done,
With shrapnel flying,
And your best mates dying
War was easier said than done,
We're disadvantaged, The Boche have Hill 60, that very important mound,
I wish i was at home, safe and sound,
War was easier said than done,
The trenches are dirty, cold and wet,
I can't take off my boots, in mud they're set,
War was easier said than done,
You never know if your next breath will be your last,
Use your legs, run and run fast,
War was easier said than done,
I've only been here for about one week,
I'm still alive, so i guess this is a winning streak?
War was easier said than done,
My bayonet is bloody and red,
I'm glad it's him and not me that is dead
War was easier said than done...
