Bird song bringing break of dawn,
dew that glistens on brand new morn.
Nocturnal animals dash and hide,
sleeping cows wake side by side.

They said, to take the darkness,
They said, to watch it fall.
They said, we weren't to matter,
Bout anything at all.

A shroud of blackness wraps around,
as from the cave he peers.
Through sleepy eyes adjusting to the dark.

The ponderings of wise men,
The chuntering of fools.
That they will make up their own minds,
How to observe the rules.

Captain Lollipop was a hero of sorts,
he refused to wear trousers, would always wear shorts.
Except for at bedtime, when P.J's he'd don,
for even he dare not argue with his Dad or his Mom.

Transparency of feeling to the fore.
A million droplets falling, from darkened haunted skies,
A sense of calm as you stare at the door.
