Holly Smith Poems

I sit and stare at this here screen,
I want to write,
But i only dream.
My mind wanders out of this room,
...

I just want to hate you,
I just want to scream,
or maybe i could just wake up,
and this could all be a dream.
...

If i told you that I'd listen,
If i told you that I'd care,
Would you open up your heart to me?
and show me all that's there?
...

4.

I want to be perfect,
But for no-one but you,
I want you to want me,
and to always stay true,
...

I feel like you're leaving,
as though you're trying to go,
Can't you tell me you love me?
I guess that's a no.
...

What is this feeling?
Lurking deep inside?
Is it something bad?
Because it's trying to hide?
...

7.

You're thin and you're pretty,
with blonde curly hair,
you're kind and it shows,
with how much you care.
...

I'll simply be out shopping,
or just going for a run,
when words and phrases hit me,
and a poem has begun.
...

You'll be there forever,
you're a piece of my heart,
you were always there honey,
right from the start.

Daydreams

I sit and stare at this here screen,
I want to write,
But i only dream.
My mind wanders out of this room,
No words appear,
But outdoor looms.
The clean cut grass strokes my feet,
as i think of summer
and friends to meet.
A butterfly twirls around my head,
lays down to rest,
on a flowerbed.
But as i open my eyes, i plainly see,
none of these things do surround me,
instead im still staring at this screen,
wishing i could be back in my dream.
