My Power

No one believes it, but I have powers
I can control things with my mind
No I'm not psychic, no I don't have telekinesis
And I can't control people, Even though people tend
To think that they can contrl me

But I have something that those people
Don; t know or refuse to believe
I have the power to control everything that I am
My body, my soul, my thoughts, my actions,
And my decision are all mine to do as I want and will

I use my mind and heart to control and use this power
Others have yelled and told me what to do in order
To fool me into thinking that I've lost this
Amazing ability or they don't see it as special because
They think everyone has it

The truth is that everyone does have it but
Hardly anyone knows how to use it anymore
Most have charged through what
Is a giant barrier of verbal and emotional pain
The rest think they've had it taken away
Or have put on a fake layer of strength
So that no one will be tempted to take it away

The truth is that barrier doesn't have the strength
To take it away, it never did
All it could do is bury it so deep in
Them that they couldn't feel it anymore
But all they have to do is get a hammer made out
Of self-reassurance and smash those barriers to rubble
I did it and it wasn't easy but it was so much
Better than nearly losing my powers
This is our power as living being and no one has
The strength or right to take it
