If Death Be

If death be a song
On the mouths of many, foul and sweet
It'd been solemnly sung
If death be a meal
On the tables of many, good or
bad
It'd been coldly served.

If death be passion
In the heart of many, weak and
strong
It'd been mightily burned
If death be a tale...
Countless pages old as gold
still and still, it's been told.

The joy of expectation,
from a mother high in the spirits
by the thought of an added soul
Days of torment she did endure
In agony's adorn she felt secure
all in wait for the one so pure

Starved father getting ready
In endless toils his robe was sewn
Seeking for wine to spill in many
All in wait for the long sought
soul
Turbulent journey of a cryptic
being
About to take its turn in the toll

It did come but not in cries
Evident mystery of a troubled
world
Clad in red was a soul now dead
Lost forever in eternity's shed
Hopes burnt and energy drained
All invain for a mortal's gain.

Bade farewell before it'd come
Endless nights now rid of dawn
Such is the fate that awaits all
men
Everyone, like a season shall be
gone.
If death be the hope of a new
day
I'd solemnly wrought in the
turmoil of yesterday.
