One Poppy,
Life's shed blood,
Our hero,
Shed life's blood,
...

I couldn't shake it,
I wouldn't wake,
Dead enough now,
i'm only young,
...

Your laughter hugs my soul,
Your smile rings out happiness complete,
Your voice gladdens my heart,
Your music touches my being, a treat.
...

Back and back I go,
skimming the wild Emerald fields, wading the black satin lakes,
Back and back I go,
Landing in the kitchen, Great granny dinner makes,
...

Billowing and suffocating,
there it was- so many
treading and tearing it apart.
The black hole.

Jade Murphy Biography

Hi I'm Jade, I'm now 18 years old. I was born in the east end of london! I fell in love with poetry many years ago, and have many poets i aspire to write like. George Herbert has to be up there, with William Yeats, Patrick Kavanagh, William Blake and Keats. I want to be a primary school teacher, and hopefully instill a love for poetry within them from a young age. I'm in training for my black belt in the wado ryu style of karate. I compete all across england on our fighting squad. I also do Ballroom and latin american dancing. That was in the vain hope that one day i might come across Brendan Cole and have him sweep me off my feet! ! =] As well as having a passion for poetry and all things to do with english literature and language- I am an avid fan of anything irish. I am trying to learn how to speak gaelic, hence the very feeble use of some phrases in my poem 'Ancestor Land' haha. I'm half irish and half scottish, my fathers family come from Killarney in County Kerry, and my mothers family are from the highlands of Inverness. And me i was born in the east end of london in a hospital bed on christmas eve. I've always been proud to have this irish connection, particularly when there have been so many fine irish writers. Patrick Kavanagh's 'On Raglan Road' has to be one of my favourites, as well as Yeats' 'Aedh wish for the cloths of heaven' However they are poets i can only ever aspire to writing as! So read my poems and tell me what you think. If you would like to know more about me, message me. So Happy reading and dias mhuire dhuit! ! (God and Mary be with you!) xx)
