JAE CENTORINO Poems

My heart will mend
It’s only a minor set back
I have to look ahead
And make sure I stay on track.
...

I stand alone and feel the water I'm
wet cold/hungry for peace
I reach out for the rain but my hands
are always empty
...

I find myself with the shakes and the sweats;
I ask myself what's wrong with me
How can I have numbness like this?
What did I do, what did I take
...

Life’s lessons are hard to endure
Lessons learned;
Help you reach for much more
...

I can’t make you love me
I can’t change the way you are
I guess you’d rather be free
even though you’re not that far.
...

Whateva is anything
anything at tha moment
No questions, no lies nothing.
...

Hammers and nails
Mud-pies and snails;
Dirt and grime
Never bothered by time.

Midnight Whispers can you hear me?

I send these messages one Str8 flight.
You don't have to look far just out the

The clouds have lifted
I’ve seen some sort of light
They say it must be serenity
And will give me great insight.

I’ve felt this sensation
Confusing as it was
Was it love?

Here you see a small child
that’s three she yells and stomps;
only trying to break free.

There he was sporting the most
expensive smile and attractive style.
His body sculpted like priceless art.
He has a heart of steel and

Flight time whenever I desire.

Not to mistake with my Whateva
It’s what I call my comfort man.
The being I rely on when I’m in need;
Body and soul journey for two.

The disrespect is unimaginable
my children witnessed the unthinkable
the crowd gathered and was useless.
The yelling hurt my ears. The tears

JAE CENTORINO Biography

INNER-CITY LIFE Just lil ole me writing under a tree. Looking up at the clouds that make me feel free. I give a crooked smile all the while looking over at my kids and I give a wink. Reassuring them I'm their protector. I come from a place where I have to lock my doors watch our backs and pray for no more. The kids are killing eachother in my streets, the parents don't know any better because their behind bars. The grand-parents are left to raise their second blood-line. I try my best to look away but how can you when it's happening every-day? INNER-CITY LIFE)

My Heart Will Mend

My heart will mend
It’s only a minor set back
I have to look ahead
And make sure I stay on track.

It’s not about him anymore
I have to see this through.
Only concentrating on me
and my Rug-Rats it's hard
only because it’s new.

I feel real good I’d like to thank you
for giving me the chance to experience hell.
Not many people not even a few have the courage
to stand/speak and then to tell about theirs.

The pain and sadness that must return
each and every time you make yourself known
I’m here and your not out of sight
out of mind is what they say..
Now I can’t feel or get hurt.
What a feeling without the maddness.

I will never sit and be quiet again
not for you not for him and I'm not
sorry, even if it comes to my best friend.

If i’m quiet then I don’t care
If I look away then I’m not true.
What am I supposed to do?

Do you think you have to tell
me how to be true?
I think not.

With men in my life like that
My mind doesn’t feel free,
all you negative men
just let me be.
