Inevitable

Death is here,
That, I fear.
It comes so swift,
And leaves the same.
No matter what,
I cannot tame,
The fear that overcomes,
with drowning shame.
I missed my chance,
To say goodbye,
I fear it will come yet
another time.
How do I prepare
for what will come,
Yet I never know when it's done.
Please God, grant me strength,
From wondering when death
will claim it's fate.
