Jamie Wallace Poems

I awoke with the sun shining brightly on my pale skin,
the blankets rumpled and kicked to the floor.

My pillows smell of tangy cologne and sugary sweat.
...

Peaks that touch the sky,
trees give dimention to otherwise flat hills.
The scent of pine tingles in my nose.
...

I feel the cold crisp air rush my face,
as i step out of my rustic cabin.
I breath in the fishy lake water
and the sweet pine trees.
...

The setting is perfect for you,
the Tetons touch the sky in front,
and a feild of wild flowers blows in the wind behind.
Your casket sits in the shade,
...

I write in the dark of my room,
the only light coming from the
ocean blue of my computer.
My finger click rapidly.

One Night

I awoke with the sun shining brightly on my pale skin,
the blankets rumpled and kicked to the floor.

My pillows smell of tangy cologne and sugary sweat.
I burry my face and breath deaply the scent of him.

Clothes spread through the room messily,
as if in a rush of excitement were stripped from their owners.

The sound of the shower assults my ears
as I peal the sweat soaked linnen away from me.

I stroll quietly to the door of the bathroom and
press my ear to the cold hard surface.

He is still here, humming softly with the beat of the water
running over his muscular frame.

I open the door quietly and tip toe to the shower
the humming stops and I can hear his slow breathing

He pulls open the curtian that separates us
just enough to admit me to the warm water within.

When the water is cold we both emerge
and drape towels around or wet figures

I sink slowly into the softness of my bead
and watch as he pieces last night's clothes together.

He dresses in a slow hurry not wanting to rush
and pulls his loosely fit jeans onto his tight body

Taking me into his arms he kisses me solidly
and whispers softly into my ear 'Goodbye'

As he walks out the door I know
I will never see that exquisite man again.

It all felt so right, so good
even though it was one night.

I lay back in my bed with a smile
one night was all I needed.

One night with one beautiful man.
