Jason Caporaletti Poems

I want the eyes that see all
all that is good,
all that is,
The eyes that see no evil
...

Fleeting figments of imagination keep me company
as I retreat to the limitless prison of phantasmal fantasy.
A prison made of three walls and a television,
the true sorcery of the screen is not how it imitates reality,
...

Thump-thump, Thump-thump, Thump-thump

On the I-5
going 35
...

I see my teacher lecturing
but I am filled with doubt
No way the world's so relative
as he has so laid out
...

click-pop
click-pop
two gunshots
eye to eye
...

All remains
her perfume in my clothes
her lipstick on my cheek
her scent on my fingers
...

You say, listen to you
No way I'm gonna trust you to show me what's true,
but that's what you tell me to do
Fine, I guess I'll do it
...

This is for the shrinks.
Help they would
if they could,
but pre-canned words are impotent
...

Rise and yawn
at crack of dawn
your work begins
'til clean kitchens
...

A friend asked me one time
why I always speak in rhyme
I said, 'no I do not'
She said, 'you do it a lot'
...

The wave of time sweeps over.
It is carried by it, carried forward like driftwood into the new age.
Once, a pillar, holding the weight of a grand structure;
now, a forgotten artifact, dragged along because it exists.
...

Isn't it strange,
that someone would want change?
Something other than the same
old endlessly selfish political game?
...

14.

Defiantly she walks through each new place,
careful not to stop long or look back
at ruined landscape trails she dare not face,
Where with each sharp heel’s lift the earth would crack.
...

They say 'it's better to have loved and lost
than never to have loved at all'
But 'ignorance is bliss they say
at least that is what many call.
...

Such strong facades does he put up
that his own heart’s confused.
Destined for suspicion
when he meets anyone other.
...

Speechless, for once my tongue is lame
Words are rarely far beyond me,
I always know what things to say... usually.
Today is not the same.
...

Wipe your tears of mourning,
you have promises to keep.
You must continue moving,
while the mighty take their sleep.
...

Each day I visualize tomorrow, but all I see is yesterday
Convincing it is to think that the path to freedom is submission
And where my soul aches to rebel my trained mind beats me into conformity
While the bottle the pipe and the brothel stare me down with those seductive eyes and coax me into a everlasting cycle of longing
...

So long I can't remember when last I was inspired
to let my thoughts lay down in words and convey my desires.
It's your true beauty through and through that keeps me so enthralled
I've never been this way before, for you I've truly fallen

The Best Poem Of Jason Caporaletti

Sweet Savory Silence

Through immolation of myself I give up my defiance
and only listen and stand by as all distraction burn
and only when all noise is none, then do I truly learn
to simply be and now imbibe the sweet savory silence...
